The BBC angered many people in August 2019 when it removed all BBC radio stations from TuneIn, forcing Echo, Nest and Sonos speakers to instead stream stations via the BBC Sounds service. The drawback to this move is that, unlike TuneIn, BBC Sounds is unable to stream radio to multi-room speaker groups, only single speakers. The BBC says it’s looking into the problem, but its last word on the matter was in 2019 (www.snipca.com/38642), so we’re not holding our breath.
