A few months ago, my wife, who is ex-Royal Navy, treated me to a show at the Grand Theatre in Lancaster. Charlie Connelly’s one-man show Attention All Shipping was on to promote his 2005 book of the same title. The performance was enjoyable, anecdotal, funny and informative in equal measure. Charlie is a great nesophile (a lover of islands), and shiver my timbers, what an evening it was!
