Work out years, months and days between two dates
The =DATEDIF function is a versatile tool for calculating how much time has passed between two dates. You can join together (or concatenate) three =DATEDIF functions to present the length of time in years, months and days.
Once you’ve added the two dates, click inside the cell you want the first result to appear (D1 in our case – see screenshot). You now need to type the following command =DATEDIF(A1, B1 "y") &" years, “&DATEDIF(A1, B1, "ym") &” months, " &DATEDIF(A1, B1, "md") &" days" – or copy and paste it from our Pastebin site: www.snipca.com/44461. Replace A1, B1 with the cells containing the first set of start and end dates on your spreadsheet.
