During the last week of February, any modern quilter would have to have been living in a social media quarantine to miss the news: QuiltCon, the fourth annual conference and meet-up of the Modern Quilt Guild, was a huge success. This year’s show, held in a contemporary venue with the charming backdrop of historic Savannah, Georgia, was a temporary mecca for moderns.
As quilt shows go, QuiltCon is a bucket list experience for those interested in a full immersion of modern quilting. In addition to more than 500 quilts on display, over 100 workshops and lectures, and dozens of unique vendors, Savannah clearly was “the place to see and be seen.”
