If Zen 4 sounds great, you’ll be shocked to hear that AMD is already working on… [drumroll]… Zen 5! We do have to give credit to AMD for keeping things simple on the architecture naming, though of course, that doesn’t account for the numerous codenames—Raphael, Granite Ridge, Phoenix Point, Strix Point, and plenty of other names are floating around. Slated for a 2024 release, Zen 5 will look to carry forward the Zen legacy. At this stage, AMD isn’t providing much information on performance or new capabilities that it’s planning for Zen 5, but it has shared a few other details.
