Now, a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims that Apple has been surveying its employees to see what they think of rival smart glasses. Your smart home could get a major Apple-flavoured revamp as soon as early 2025, if a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is to be believed. If it’s accurate, we could see Apple launch a ‘command centre’ device that acts as a central hub for all your smart home accessories. When you’re emailed a PDF form to fill in and sign, how do you go about it? You can type your information into the necessary fields, but do you then print it out and sign it before scanning it back into digital form and emailing it back to the sender? After several iPhones started automatically rebooting while the owners were in police custody, speculation mounted that this was a new security and privacy feature. Now, it looks like that assertion was correct, as researchers have found code in iOS 18.1 that describes a new “inactivity reboot”. There are plenty of tips and tricks for iPad users. Take its multitasking capabilities, for example. In Split View mode, you can have two apps open at once on the screen. In Slide Over, a second app sits in a floating window on the edge of the display. Intrigued by Apple Intelligence and the promise of Genmoji, I’ve just got an iPhone 16 and, while I like to consider myself pretty tech savvy, I have to say, I’m a bit lost.
