Open-ear headphones occupy a middle ground between traditional headphones and earbuds. At first glance they resemble earbuds, complete with a compact charging case, but unlike earbuds they don’t need to be pushed deep into the ear canal – a big plus for anyone who finds that uncomfortable.
The last pair we reviewed, the Huawei FreeArc (£80 from www.snipca.com/54390, see Issue 708), used a plastic loop that hooked over the ear for stability. This new design takes a different approach, clipping securely to the outside of the ear instead, taking up less space while holding the sound drivers further into the ear.
