WITH THE EOS R5 shouting “Look at me, look at me”, there’s a chance the R6 might have been overlooked in all the fuss about 8K video and… er, well… 8K video. So, the EOS R6 doesn’t do 8K video (no biggie at this point in time), isn’t quite so well built or weather protected, has a lower-res EVF and makes do with 20.1 megapixels resolution (as does, we should point out here, the EOS-1D X Mark III). However, it actually has more in common with the R5 than not… and at around $2,000 less too.
What you still get, though, is up to 20fps continuous shooting (with AF/AE adjustment), 10-bit HEIF capture (as an alternative to 8-bit JPEGs), the upgraded Dual Pixel CMOS AF II autofocus system, in-body image…
