If you’re Dr Dean Miller and the Great Barrier Reef Legacy (GBRL) team, you get research expeditions designed to investigate and, ultimately, save coral reefs. You also get rich imagery that’s more than just beautiful to look at. The team’s photographic, video and digital data is being used for the good of the Great Barrier Reef, and of coral reefs around the world.
“We need to understand how, where and why corals are surviving,” says Dr Dean Miller, GBRL’s expedition coordinator and director for science and media. “Until we answer some of those fundamental questions, we’re not going to be able to save coral reefs.”
