Anker has recalled five power banks sold in the UK because of the risk they could catch fire.
The Chinese firm said anyone who owns an affected model should stop using it immediately “due to the risk of overheating, melting, smoke or fire”. It said the problem comes from faulty lithium-ion battery cells.
“While the likelihood of malfunction is considered minimal, out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to initiate a voluntary global recall of several Anker power bank models,” it added.
