Virgin Mobile customers have reacted with anger to new pay-as-you-go prices that charge them £6 a day for sending a single text, making a single call and using any data.
From 18 November, Virgin will charge a flat rate of £2 for just one call, up to 200 minutes. It will also charge £2 for one text, up to 200 texts, and for using data, up to 200MB.
It means customers who make just one call a day will pay £60 a month. You’ll pay the same if you send just one text message a day.
Not all pay-as-you-go customers will be moved to this deal. Virgin said it will email those who are affected.
