Which SSD do you recommend for my laptop?
Q I have a laptop with an Intel i7-2640M processor, 8GB of memory and a traditional hard drive. It now loads very slowly, especially using Photoshop. Would you recommend an SSD, and if so what size and make?

A The i7-2640M is a dual-core processor from Intel’s Sandy Bridge generation, released in 2011. In the industry-standard Geekbench benchmark tests, it scores around 2,870 for single-core and 5,400 for multi-core tasks. By last year, Intel’s i7-7500U (still with two cores) had only edged this up to about 3,900 and 7,600. However, the new quad-core i7-8550U now scores 4,220 and 12,980.
