Apple prides itself on its security, but it looks like the company has suffered a damaging incident close to home. Asecurity researcher who reported bugs to Apple – and was publicly thanked by the company for his efforts – has been arrested for using an internal Apple tool to steal millions of dollars. The researcher, named Noah Roskin-Frazee, has been accused alongside acoconspirator of scamming Apple out of over $3 million over the course of nearly 25 suspicious orders. That apparently included around $2.5 million in gift cards and over $100,000 in products and services. The combination of Apple software and hardware have always been something of a closed shop. This is by design. AWhen you use the Finder’s Get Info on the iCloud Drive item in its sidebar, that doesn’t measure what’s stored in your iCloud Drive, let alone the overall total in iCloud. Instead, the Finder shows the size of what’s being stored locally on your Mac.
