Digital assistants are easy to rank by how likely they are to meaningfully answer a question: Google Assistant, Alexa, Siri, Cortana, a house brick, then Bixby. This isn’t the whole story, though. Google Assistant and Alexa are available in apps for Android and iOS, although opening the app wastes time. Siri only exists on Apple devices, Cortana on Windows, and Bixby in Samsung devices. Google’s Home speakers and Apple’s HomePod (pictured) contain their assistants just as Echo does Alexa. There’s no equivalent for Cortana, while a Samsung Galaxy Home speaker is coming soon.
