WINDOWS 7, 8, 10 Open files and folders with a single click
By default, you need to click a file/folder in Windows/File Explorer to select it and double-click to open it. With a simple settings tweak, you can select an item by pointing your cursor at it, then single-click it to open it.
Open Windows/File Explorer, click the File tab (in Windows 7 and 8.1, click the Organize dropdown menu), then click Options or ‘Change folder and search options’. In the pop-up window that appears, select ‘Single-click to open an item (point to select)’, click Apply, then OK.
